ANY ASSEMBLY REQUIRED UPON ARRIVAL?
Generally, assembly will require attaching pedals, front wheel, handlebars and possibly minor adjustments. You'll need basic tools to get your bike built. We will be more than happy to guide you during the assembly process. Please visit our contact page to find out how to reach us.
BUILDING TIME
Your Frenchie bike is built within 5 to 7 business days of receiving your order. Remember, this is a custom build, a one-of-a-kind bike, it is not pre-assembled and waiting to be shipped. We need to paint and to assemble your work of art on two wheels! All items featured on AtomBicycles.com are in stock and available unless noted otherwise. If an item or component colour becomes unavailable or backordered, you will be notified as soon as possible of any delay or unavailability.
CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER?
After you have clicked "Confirm Order," your order begins to process and you cannot make any online changes. Please note that most orders process quickly. If your order has already entered the shipping process, you may be assessed shipping and handling charges which are not refundable. So it is important that you contact us quickly.
Can I go up hills?
One gear does not mean you can't climb; you might have to push harder, your pedaling rotation slower and be more committed to get up there than riding a geared bike but chances are strong that you will make it. Some of you will probably see it as a challenge anyway. You probably use bike paths in your cities, have you ever noticed that bike paths are avoiding big hills, even in San Francisco where you will find one of the largest population of fixed gear riders in the world.
CAN I REMOVE THE FRENCHIE DECALS?
Hey, it is your bike and we understand that you may want to ride brand less. The decals are easy to remove as there is no clear coat applied on top of them. You can use a hair dryer to warm up the decal and then you can peel it off. The excess glue left on the frame can be wiped out with some Goo Gone remover or Windex.
COLOR ACCURACY?
Please note, the colors showing on your monitor may appear slightly different than the actual colors of the parts, frame and accessories. We have done our very best to calibrate them as close to reality as possible.
Do I need brakes on my fixie?
Of course, some fixed gear "purists" ride brakeless. Here, at Atom Bicycles, we do not recommend riding without brakes. We sell all Frenchie bicycles standard with a front brake and a rear brake installed and we strongly encourage you at keeping them on your bike.
HOW DO I KNOW THAT MY ORDER WENT THROUGH?
Shortly after completion of your order, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your order. You will receive a second email when your order has been shipped. Please save these emails for your records. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 48hrs of placing your order, please contact us.

What is and why a fixed gear bicycle?
Fixed gear bikes, or 'fixies', are the simplest and the oldest type of bicycles. The bicycle has only one gear and doesn't allow the rider to coast. Here, at Atom Bicycles, our bikes are equipped with a flip-flop rear hub. The rear hub accepts a fixed sprocket on one side, and a single-speed freewheel on the other side. If your rear wheel is set up on the freewheel side, it means that you can stop pedaling and the bike will keep rolling. And, if your rear wheel is setup on the fixed gear side, whenever the bike is in motion, the pedals will go around. This gives the rider a very direct feel of the road while being connected to your bike. It is a fun riding experience. Also, because of their simplicity, generally lighter than a geared bike and having less moving parts, fixed gear bicycles are more reliable, less prone to mechanical failure and surprisingly fast.
WHAT SIZE IS GOOD FOR ME?
Choosing the right frame size is important for comfort and safety. Sizing is based on your body, fit and riding style. We have four frame sizes available. Please use the suggested guidelines below to determine appropriate frame size before ordering. A good way to help you out selecting the correct size for you is by comparing measurements from the table, below, with a bike you own and feels right for you. Your body proportions should affect your decision if you're between sizes. If you are still confused; please contact us and we will gladly guide you with the proper size needed.
